“This organization is one of the best for the animals that it takes in and gives a forever home to be happy and well taken care of. If it weren’t for these incredible people, so many of our creatures would not be alive today. They need the financial assistance to continue their great work. It would be a tragedy for all concerned if they could not continue this fine work.” – Jeanne Z
There are always volunteer opportunities at PrideRock and you play an important role in our mission of providing the best possible environment for our cats. If you don‘t mind hard, dirty work in extreme weather conditions, and love big cats, then this is the place for you. There are ways to get involved both at the facility and off-site. Also please note you must be at least 18 years old and be able to commit to at least two days of volunteering a month. Must be available at least 4 hours weekly Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m.
On-site duties will include performing basic grounds keeping/maintenance functions as they relate to the general upkeep and cleanliness of the refuge including mowing, planting and landscaping, watering new and existing plants, shoveling, seasonal clean-up, i.e. raking in the fall, spring clean-up, etc. Ongoing maintenance and repair of equipment, structures, and tools, if you have the skills.
Detail cleaning of the tool shed, animal food prep area, animal enclosures, and dens. Making sure each enclosure has some form of enrichment and something for the cat to play with before you leave. Cleaning and bleaching of all the carts at the end of the day.
If there at feeding time, you will assist in preparation of meals for the cats, feeding of the cats, washing of the food pans, and clean-up of the food prep area.
Depending on whether or not habitat construction is being done, volunteers may help in construction including manual labor, ladder work, using tools and more.
Off-site duties are available for people to address thank you cards, marketing, public relations and fundraising. Please use the form on the Contact Page to ask for information on these opportunities.
WE DO HAVE TO EMPHASIZE THAT PRIDEROCK WILDLIFE REFUGE IS A STRICT NO CONTACT FACILITY.
WHILE VOLUNTEERS WORK AMONG THE CATS, THERE IS NO PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THEM AT ANY TIME.
Please use the form on the Contact Page to ask for information on these opportunities. We look forward to having you volunteer with us!
