Volunteer of the Quarter
Kelly Moore, April-June 2017
Kelly Moore is our choice for Volunteer of the Quarter for April-June. Kelly began volunteering in early 2016 and proved herself to be dedicated, dependable and willing to help with all aspects of volunteering. Kelly arrives at PrideRock with a foldable wagon filled with supplies – some for the animals and some for the humans. Every week she may bring something different from nuts and cakes for the bears to chicken legs and enrichment toys for the cats. She also comes with her very large camera to take photos for us to use on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Kelly can be called on to fill in on days when PrideRock is short on volunteers and she loves participating in helping the cats create abstract art which we sell in our online shop, expos and presentations. Kelly washes feed pans, cleans enclosures, rakes and anything else asked of her – in any type of weather. If she is filthy dirty and sweaty in 100 degree weather, or bundled up in layers in freezing weather, Kelly never complains. She just loves being here. You can even find Kelly talking to the general public at expos we attend around the metroplex to create awareness about what PrideRock does and why. Kelly’s favorite animals are Diego the African lion and Coco, Rowdy and Toro, the three black bears. Thank you Kelly for all you do for PrideRock Wildlife Refuge. Your efforts are not going unnoticed.
