The spotlight this month is on our keeper, Corey Allison
Corey has been with us now for over three years and has become a very respected member of the PrideRock team. He loves the animals and their care and best interests come first with him. He has also taken a leadership role and we have come to depend on Corey for everything from making sure the cats are fed properly, getting the vitamins and medications they need, and overseeing the maintenance and repair of the enclosures, to making sure other employees and volunteers are getting the work done.
He has also gone off-sight and done educational seminars for children’s camps and really enjoys interacting with the kids and answering all their questions about the cats. Recently a friend of mine from high school who is a teacher on the East coast sent questions that each of her kids had asked each of our cats and Corey took every question and posed as the cat answering each question individually and attached a picture of that particular cat. I know the child will be thrilled to receive an answer and picture from his kitty! I have included a few of the letters that the kids and Corey wrote.
Corey is particularly close to one of our elderly cougars Cherokee, and we are so glad that he gives her so much special attention as her days with us may be numbered. He has enriched her life and for that we are very grateful. We know she loves him as much as he loves her and their bond is obvious.
We are very proud of the role Corey has taken at PrideRock and feel that he takes great pride in his work for us. Thank you Corey for all you do for us and we hope you are with us for a very long time!!
