Gary
New Year for PrideRock
2010.01.05 23:12:03

The New Year is here and all is well at PrideRock.  Gary and I were sick through Christmas and New Years, but all the animals have been taken care of and are healthy and happy.

We have lost volunteers and gained new ones and our new meat program is in full swing which should help PrideRock finances considerably.  Gary and a couple of helpers are working hard to make sure all the meat is good that is fed.  We have gotten some great stuff including salmon, steaks, roast, brisket, hamburger and even a little poultry.  With the variety, the cats seem to really like it and get something different each night.

We have numerous projects in store for this year, some of which were on tab for last year, but we either ran out of money, or just didn’t have the time or people to do the job.  Gary still doesn’t have a job, but we have high hopes for everything coming together in 2010!  My resolution is make sure and blog more frequently so everyone will have a better idea about what is happening at PrideRock this year.

Happy New Year and keep on chuffin ~~

Friday!!
2009.04.03 20:35:28

The photo shoot/filming of our upcoming TV spot went well and we understand it will air in late May. It will be a series on “couples that inspire” which we were certainly grateful to have been selected to participate. Our work is certainly inspiring to us! I think most others think we’re crazy. J Christine was nice enough to take the day off from her busy job to come over and help us get everything presentable. We enjoyed spending the day with her.

Gary took our three young female pups to be spayed yesterday. They were dropped off with their mother on our road back in the fall and we certainly couldn’t risk more puppies! They are on the mend and will be out running and playing with the others soon.

My days are longer since Gary no longer drops me off at work so after my bus commute; I’m not getting home until around 7:00. Gary has been starting the feeding process by himself, unless he is fortunate enough to have a volunteer. Samantha came over last night and let us know she was moving back to Tennessee, so another volunteer bites the dust. We are hopeful to have at least one intern for the summer.

Still no luck with Gary’s job seeking. He continues to plug along in hopes of something coming up soon.

Have a great weekend!!

Carol
