A year has come and gone since I last blogged and more has happened than I could possibly write. Friends and volunteers have come and gone and there have been happy times and sad times. Lots of tears and smiles, disappointments in what could be and how much we would love to do for them, but at the same time, gratefulness for all that we have been able to do. The animals have shown us much about life and people, and I have come to respect and love them more than ever. The work is hard, but so rewarding and a handful of volunteers have made the phrase “only the strong survive” ring true. We are very grateful for ones that have hung in there with us.

Life at PrideRock is better than ever and consumes every minute of our spare time. The days seem to fly by and I can’t believe Spring is here which is our favorite time of year. I will hope to be better about “blogging” for all our friends that have wondered what we were up to. All the bulbs I planted last Fall have already started coming up and all the mowing and yard work has begun. There have been sad things and good things happen the last few months. | 3 days of rain... |

After 3 days of rainy weather the weekend at PrideRock was wonderful, sunny and mild tempratures prevailed. All the cats enjoyed the sunshine as much as the caretakers. Thanks to Betty and Jennifer our Saturday clean up went very quickly and the cats appreciated the attention they were given. We have a number of special projects coming up that will greatly enhance the environment for the cats: one will be replacing flower bed edging around Sophia and Sheale's pen; another will be placing crushed limestone over some of the walkways before winter sets in, and of course Carol is planning beds for wild flowers for the spring. | A hot weekend |

The weekend at PrideRock was very hot (100 plus degrees) on both days, the weekend chores were accomplished notwithstanding the heat. Unfortunately, the hot and dry weather makes it necessary for us to spend a considrable amount of time watering the landscaping at PrideRock. Jammu and Kashmir got their booster shots a little late for their second birthday, but that is done and they didn't even know it! Tags: hot weather | Jamu | Kashmir Hits: 635 | Read more... |
